First Fruits & Prayer Training
October 5, 7 – 9 p.m./October 6, 9 – 11 a.m., Come and seek after the Holy Spirit in worship and prayer at our monthly Friday night healing service. Then, join us the next morning for prayer training led by Pete Jones and Emmie Wilson on “The Power of Word and Spirit”.
Peter Jones is the Head of Global Development for Alpha in Prisons. Previously he ran Alpha courses in all categories of prisons in the UK for 7 years and was an Anglican Youth Pastor working with teenagers on the streets. He now trains teams to run Alpha in prisons all over the world. He has a Masters in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Peter lives in Oxford, UK and is married to Titilola from Nigeria, and has two children at college.
Emmy Wilson became involved in Prison work in 1991, helping as a part-time volunteer in the chaplaincy team at HMP Holloway, the largest women’s prison in London. In December 1994 she began taking teams to other prisons in the UK to support chaplains who wanted to start using the Alpha course. This work grew rapidly and an Alpha for Prisons department was created at Holy Trinity Brompton in July 1997. There are now many prisons running Alpha in the UK, and 80 countries worldwide registered as running Alpha for Prisons. As well as the prison ministry, Emmy has led Prayer Ministry and Listening Prayer Training and corporate prayer meetings at HTB. She also enjoys speaking at evangelistic events and is a member of the College of Evangelists.
